DrDAQ data acquisition software

Advanced data acquisition software with experiment setups for many science experiments

PicoScope and PicoLog are compatible with any PC running Windows 3.1x, 95/98, NT//2000, ME, or XP.

PicoLog data acquisition software

PicoLog is a powerful but flexible program for collecting, analysing and displaying data. Some of the features of PicoLog are listed here. To see for yourself just how good it is, download a copy.

Recorder View. Shows the current readings for each channel. Enables you to start / stop recording. All settings such as scaling, channels and sampling are controlled from here. Graph view. Graphs can be displayed both during and after data collection. Each channel can be displayed in its own graph or multiple channels can be displayed in the same graph.
XY Graph. Displays one parameter against another. Axes can be set automatically or manually. Spreadsheet View. Displays text data in a format that can be easily ‘copied and pasted’ into other applications such Excel. Data can be saved to disk in standard ASCII text format.
Notes view. Attach notes to data so students can remind themselves to add important points into their experiment write-up. Multiple Views. PicoLog allows multiple views on the screen at the same time. This gives instant access to information and settings.

Useful Features

Parameter Scaling can be used to convert raw data into standard engineering units for display on graphs. A wide range of equation and table lookup scaling options are provided.

Additional parameters can be calculated, for example to calculate current a voltage reading from one channel can be divided by the resistance reading from another channel.

Alarm Limits can be set for each channel to alert students should a parameter go out of a specified range.

Calculate additional parameters

Log data and work simultaneously

PicoLog data acquisition software works in two modes: player mode for displaying previously recorded data and recorder mode for recording new data. Students can have more than one copy of PicoLog for Windows running at once, so they can use the player to analyse old data whilst recording new data. Class time is not wasted while data is collected over long periods

Exporting Data

Data can easily be transferred (either as graphs or raw data) to other Windows applications by using the clipboard (copy and paste). Graphs can also be saved to disk (as Windows Metafiles) and data from the spreadsheet can be saved in text format.
